This document describes how to configure a desktop computer running Microsoft Windows to support eToken management functions via the SafeNet Authentication Manager (SAM). Normally, a department eToken administrator (DA) would require this setup.

Prerequisites:

  1. Possession of a user or DA eToken with UTORauth-issued user certificate(s)  and a SafeNet client installation on a desktop computer running Microsoft Windows as described in: SafeNet Client Installation for Windows Domain-attached Computers or SafeNet Client Installation for Windows non-Domain-attached Computers.

Installation and Configuration:

  1. Install the SafeNet Authentication Manager client (distinct from the SafeNet Authentication client!). This is available in 32-bit or 64-bit versions at: https://secure.sis.utoronto.ca/software/safenet-etoken-clients/
  2. Note that on completion, there will be two SafeNet clients installed – the SAC and the SAM.

Internet Explorer Configuration Changes

To enable complete functionality, please make the following changes to Internet Explorer setup:

  1. The eToken management server site is https://ekey.utoronto.ca . Add this site to ‘trusted sites’ in IE. ‘Internet options’ in Tools -> Security tab -> Trusted Sites.
